Welcome to the Oregon-Davis School website! What an exciting year this is for us as we get to celebrate 50+ years of educational excellence in this community. As you look through this website, I hope you get a sense of the excitement that surrounds Oregon-Davis schools. It is that positive environment, a small school with big dreams, that I’ve enjoyed serving in for the past 11 years as the high school principal. I look forward to continuing that positive tradition this year as your Interim Superintendent of schools.
We all want our children to succeed in life in whatever direction they choose. To do that, we need to provide our students with an education that is diverse, differentiated, and personal while giving them the structure and support necessary for their success. Whether college or career, we want them to work effectively with others, have the ability to communicate well, show good judgment under stress and pressure, and have a broad knowledge of the world around them. Those qualities are developed first in strong families and second through quality education.
I want Oregon-Davis to continue to be a place of quality education. My goal is to work with the principals, teachers, and staff to create a culture of professional learning and innovation within which students can realize success. The way we treat each other is one of the most important building blocks in that success, and I will foster a positive atmosphere where the students and staff are appreciated and respected for their work.
Recruitment of new students will be one of our goals this year. You can help by spreading the word about the quality of our schools. The small size of our schools, matched with the high quality of our curriculum, creates an attractive option for parents who want to see their children succeed at school.
None of the positive aspects of Oregon-Davis would be possible without the support, involvement, and giving of parents and community leaders. It is this excellence in education and school spirit that I hope you’ll see in the future. I look forward to a great school year and working with this great community in doing what is best for kids.Sincerely,
